Thomas Webber
Bringham Young University

Thomas Webber is a senior chemical engineering student at Brigham Young University, and will receive his Bachelor of Science degree in April. As a teaching assistant at BYU, Thomas teaches upper level chemical engineering students principles of heat and mass transport and fluid mechanics. During the summer of 2017, Thomas worked at Washington River Protection Solutions, a primary contractor to the US Department of Energy at the Hanford Nuclear Site. As a process engineering intern, Thomas developed an evaluation methodology to calculate flammability risks in nuclear waste to facilitate efficient and safe management and treatment methods. Thomas extended this study as a primary author to a paper that will be published and presented as part of this conference. Thomas plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering in the fall to advance his engineering training and continue his research into novel methods of nuclear waste management technologies.
