Nick Stone-Weiss
Rutgers University

Nick was raised in North Olmsted, OH and graduated from North Olmsted High School in 2011. He received his B.S. in Physics from Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA in 2015 where he received the Distinction Award in Physics and was inducted into the Sigma Pi Sigma honor society. He is a current Ph.D. student in the department of Materials Science and Engineering at Rutgers University in Piscataway, NJ, where he is studying chemical durability of multicomponent silicate glasses for nuclear waste containment and bioactive glass applications. As a part of his graduate studies, he has had the opportunity to attend the Advanced Photon Source at Argonne National Lab for beamline measurements in addition to studying NMR of glasses internationally at the Physics Institute of São Carlos as a part of the University of São Paulo in Brazil. During his undergraduate and graduate studies, he has been actively involved as a teaching assistant in physics and materials science laboratory courses.
