Megan Higley

Megan Higley is a PhD student at the University of Nevada, Reno in the department of Mechanical Engineering. She obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UNR in 2018 and 2019. For her master’s thesis, she created models of used nuclear fuel casks to investigate internal temperatures during normal conditions of storage and vacuum drying conditions. She has held internships at Argonne National Laboratory and Polytech Marseille to further investigate modeling and vacuum effects. She was awarded the Nuclear Power Fellowship in 2019 and is working toward a Certificate in Nuclear Packaging and a Certificate in Effective College Instruction.
