Elaina Anderson

Elaina Anderson’s dissertation research at the University of Michigan focuses on the microstructural evolution of irradiated steels. Elaina served as the inaugural intern for the U.S. Nuclear Waste Technical Review Board during the summer of 2014. She focused on the connection between technology and policy in the federal landscape applied to disposal of high-level radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel. She also created infographics for Board reports. She has internship experience at Kurion and Pacific Northwest National Lab. On graduation, Elaina intends to effectively and meaningfully translate nuclear waste challenges to any audience.
