Adam Fisher

Adam Fisher is a final year Ph.D. student at The University of Sheffield, (UK). His work focuses on the fundamentals of glass corrosion, particularly for the new UK HLW formulation. His proposal of a novel experimental methodology aims to further aid the performance assessment for geological disposal. Adam’s work has been published in international journals and he is credited as an author on several other papers.

Adam recently undertook a placement at the International Atomic Energy Agency (Vienna, Austria), working in the Waste Technology Section for the Department of Nuclear Energy. Here, he contributed to varied international pre-disposal waste management projects.

In 2014 he earned an integrated first-class Master of Physics and Astrophysics degree from The University of Sheffield, (UK).

In his spare time, Adam enjoys participating in outreach events talking about all things nuclear with the public. He is also an avid traveler, with a particular interest in the history of the 20th century.
